Unit X is intended to unite students from different creative areas, allowing them to explore and experiment both personally and as a team. This format enables us to have a wider understanding of different areas of design and enriches our own personal creativity. On reflection the group interacted and worked well together. In order to achieve a collaborative piece of work, both primary research as a group and also as an individual was necessary. Contextual understanding is required to produce individual design concepts and visualisations with a common theme. Collaborations can be mutually beneficial to all parties involved. It can allow discussion and free flow of ideas and designs, which can influence the design process. I found our group meetings both productive and informative and enabled a more structured work ethic. This in turn improved individual time management.
